Scarlets v Bath: Taulupe Faletau to make club debut in north Wales
- Published
Taulupe Faletau will make his debut for Bath against Scarlets at Colwyn Bay in a match featuring eight Wales internationals in the starting teams.
Rhys Priestland lines up at fly-half against his former team, and Wales lock Luke Charteris is on the bench.
Faletau joined Bath from Newport Gwent Dragons while Charteris switched from Racing 92 in France.
Scarlets will be captained by Ken Owens with Scott Williams and Liam Williams named among the backs.
The 25-year-old back row forward switched to Bath at the end of the 2015-16 season after spending seven years with the Newport-based Welsh region.
The 61-times capped Faletau was Wales' outstanding player during the summer tour of New Zealand.
Scarlets are giving first run outs to John Barclay and Gareth Davies, with Aled Davies named on the bench and likely to get some game time.
But fans of the west Wales region will have to wait to see Jonathan Davies return to the Scarlet jersey following two seasons with Clermont Auvergne in France.
Scarlets were beaten 45-3 by Exeter in their first pre-season friendly, but coach Wayne Pivac says the team to play Bath is being picked with their opening Pro12 game against Munster on 3 September.
The game against Bath is their final friendly before the Pro12 season kicks-off.
