James Johnstone has joined fellow centre Chris Dean in signing an extended contract at Edinburgh.
The 29-year-old has been with the Pro14 club for the past two seasons, joining from Scotland's sevens programme.
"We have a great squad of players here and I look forward to being part of it in the future," said Johnstone.
Dean, 25, a graduate of the club's academy, made his debut in September 2015 and has made 86 appearances in his six seasons at Murrayfield.
He is currently sidelined with a pectoral injury but is expected to return to full-fitness in the new year.
"The team is really going in the right direction. This is the perfect place to get the best out of myself," Dean said.
Edinburgh have not disclosed the length of either deal.
Head coach Richard Cockerill said of Johnstone: "Jimmy has had a huge impact on the squad in the way he's applied himself to improve his game.
"He's another local man who's committed himself to the future of the club and we all look forward to seeing him continue his development."
Cockerill described Dean as an "very good player," adding, "Chris has played exceptionally well in my first two years here.
"I'm very happy that he's committed his future to the club and it shows we're building a core of Scottish lads to lead this team in the future."
