Dragons and Scarlets have had their Challenge Cup quarter-final games dates and times confirmed.

Dragons will play Bristol Bears at Ashton Gate on Friday, 18 September with kick-off at 19:45 BST.

Scarlets will travel to face Toulon in Stade Felix Mayol on Saturday, 19 September at 20:00 BST.

The semi-finals of the Champions and Challenge Cup will be played the following weekend with the finals scheduled for mid October.

The European knockout matches were postponed from early April when the competition was suspended by the coronavirus pandemic.

European Professional Club Rugby (EPCR) announced in June they still plan to stage the 2020 finals on the weekend of October 16/17/18 but organisers have abandoned plans for Marseille to host this year's showpieces.

The venues for those games are yet to be decided, whilst the French city will now stage the 2021 finals and Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London will host in 2022.

Plans for a 24-team Champions Cup competition next season are still under discussion, including eight teams from the Pro14.

It could mean eight groups of three teams, with the number of group games potentially reduced from six to four to accommodate the abbreviated season.

Scarlets and Dragons are likely to be the Welsh representatives in such a tournament, being among the better-placed teams in the Pro14 when the competition was halted in March because of Covid-19.

The Welsh regions are due to resume the Pro14 season with two rounds of local derbies behind closed doors in the final two weekends of August.
