Scotland have named an unchanged side and bench for Saturday's Six Nations match against Wales in Edinburgh.

Bryan Easson's Scots opened with a 58-7 defeat at defending champions England, while Wales were buoyed by an impressive 31-5 win at home to Ireland.

"We did show some green shoots of development," said head coach Easson.

"The players that put their hands up, not only the starters but the energy the bench brought, it made it quite an easy decision for us."

Chloe Rollie claimed a consolation try for Scotland - who have not won a match since February 2022 - as England racked up 10 of their own in Newcastle.

Scotland remain without Sarah Bonar, Jade Konkel-Roberts and Emma Wassell.

"There were positives on both sides of the ball," said Easson. "Defensively we showed some good sets. In attack, we fired some really good shots. We probably need to be a little bit more clinical.

"Evie Gallagher was outstanding. I genuinely thought she put her hand up. Louise McMillan stepped up. Emma Orr looked a real threat.

"When you have lost players, to see the likes of Evie and Louise step up to the mark and really put their hands up in that environment was really encouraging. Rachel Malcolm put in a real shift.

"We have worked on set piece this week. Wales will have seen the game last week and they'll target that a little bit."

Scotland lost every Six Nations match last year, going down 24-19 to Wales in Cardiff after opening up a 19-7 lead.

Another painful loss to the Welsh followed at the World Cup in October, with Keira Bevan kicking an 84th-minute penalty to seal an 18-15 victory.

Scotland did prevail in their last Six Nations home meeting with Wales, scoring four tries in a 27-20 success at Scotstoun in April 2021.

"This weekend will show us exactly where we are," added Easson.

"We've played them enough, we know what to expect. It's always a bit of a spicy encounter, Scotland-Wales."
