Cardiff have signed former Bath wing Gabriel Hamer-Webb on a short-term contract as injury cover.

Hamer-Webb has spent the last three months with New Zealand Provincial Championship side Southland Stags.

The ex-England Under-20 international, 22, played 32 senior games for Bath.

"We're pleased to bring Gabriel in for the next few months and he comes with some really positive endorsements from his time at Bath," said Cardiff head coach Matt Sherratt.

"He suits our style of play and will provide some extra depth and competition on the wing, where we currently have a couple of injuries."

Cardiff are without Josh Adams, 28, due to a shoulder problem, while fellow Wales international Owen Lane, 25, has what the region describe as a short-term rib injury.

Wing Theo Cabango injured his shoulder while scoring against Scarlets and will see a specialist but is expected to be a long-term casualty, while Aled Summerhill is still missing with a hamstring problem.
