Gloucester captain Lewis Ludlow has signed a new contract of undisclosed length to remain at the club.

The flanker made his 200th appearance earlier this season, having started his career in the club's academy.

The 29-year-old, who was capped twice by England in 2021, was made Cherry and Whites captain three years ago.

"Luds represents everything that this club and this team are about," said Gloucester director of rugby George Skivington, external.

"He's not from Gloucester, but he's incredibly proud to represent the city and its people.

'Every time Luds steps on the pitch you know you're going to get nothing less than 100% commitment and effort from him.

"He's an excellent leader and motivator and he gets the best out of the people playing around him, particularly some of the younger guys that have come through recently."
