Ulster flankers Dave Ewers and Sean Reffell will miss Saturday's Investec Champions Cup game away to Harlequins through injury.

Reffell picked up a groin injury in last weekend's defeat at home by Toulouse, while Ewers suffered concussion in the same game.

Another flanker, David McCann, has returned to full training and is available for selection.

Rob Herring will see a specialist this week about his elbow injury.

The Ulster and Ireland hooker sustained the injury in training last week and the South Africa native looks to be a doubt for the start of Ireland's Six Nations campaign.

Ulster head coach Dan McFarland said last week that "the prognosis is probably not great" and that "he might be out for a while".

Ulster go into Saturday's encounter at The Stoop knowing that they need to win to progress to the last 16 of the European competition.
