Four Leicester Tigers have signed new, undisclosed-length deals with the Premiership club - backs Tom Whiteley and Harry Simmons and forwards Hanro Liebenberg and James Cronin.

South African lock Liebenberg, 28, has played 100 league games since arriving in 2019, 32 of them as captain.

Cork-born Ireland international prop Cronin, 33, left Biarritz to join Tigers for the 2022-23 season.

Londoner Whiteley, 28, joined Tigers from Bristol Bears in January 2023.

He was contracted beyond the end of the current campaign on a "long-term" deal but has now extended that.

Norfolk-born academy graduate winger/scrum-half Simmons, who had half a season out on loan with Jersey Reds in 2021-22, has been with Tigers since he left school.

Tigers are sixth in the Premiership, 11 points off top spot.

They return to league action on Friday, 22 March at home to Gloucester, who they also play in the Premiership Rugby Cup at Kingsholm next Friday.
