Australia back Kurtley Beale has been ruled out of the Test series with Wales after suffering a long-term Achilles injury.
Beale, 35, picked up the injury last weekend while playing club rugby for Randwick against Eastern Suburbs.
Scans on Monday confirmed a ruptured Achilles and Beale will undergo surgery, with a time frame for his return to play yet to be confirmed.
The full-back has been capped 95 times but his last Wallabies appearance was in 2021. He was recalled in Joe Schmidt's squad for the two Test series against Wales which starts in Sydney on Saturday, 6 July before the Melbourne match seven days later.
Centre David Feliuai is also unavailable for selection this week after being named as one of 13 uncapped players in Schmidt's initial 38-man squad.
Feliuai trained in Brisbane last week but did not reassemble with the squad in Sydney on Monday due to personal reasons, with Waratahs and Australia A representative Joey Walton called into the group.
