The Irish Wolfhounds retained their Celtic Challenge crown after defeating Edinburgh 102-0 in their final fixture of the series on Saturday at Donnybrook.

The hosts racked up a remarkable 16 tries in the comprehensive success.

They led 50-0 at half-time and continued their relentless performance after the interval.

Leah Tarpey and Katie Corrigan both clinched a hat-trick of tries, with Amy Larn, Alma Atagamen, Molly Scuffil-McCabe, Vicky Elmes Kinlan, Maebh Clenaghan, Linda Djougang, Aoife Dalton, Claire Boles and Lauren Farrell McCabe also crossing. A penalty try was also awarded.

Farrell McCabe kicked four conversions to add to O'Brien's six previous successful kicks.

The Wolfhounds won nine of their 10 games on their way to back-to-back tournament titles.

Elsewhere the competition's other Irish side Clovers ensured a second-placed finish with a nine-tries-to-five 55-33 victory over Gwalia Lightning.
