Leicester Tigers have signed Ryan Crowley on a deal that runs until the end of the season after the winger impressed during a trial period with the Prem club.

The 27-year-old has featured twice and scored one try for Tigers in the Prem Rugby Cup.

Crowley, who is an avionic engineer for the Royal Air Force, has joined Tigers from second tier side Chinnor.

Tigers head coach Geoff Parling praised Crowley for the way he has taken his opportunity at Leicester with "real energy and hunger".

For Crowley, his contract with the 11-time Prem title winners is his first in professional rugby.

"I've kept knocking and knocking, was overlooked in the age grade system in Wales, and this is my first full-time environment at the age of 27," he told the club website., external
