Sale hooker McElroy signs new deal

Tadgh McElroy has previously had spells with Saracens, Leinster, Connacht and Ulster

Sale Sharks hooker Tadgh McElroy has signed a new one-year deal.

The 27-year-old Irishman joined the Premiership side on a short-term deal last October and made 24 appearances in all competitions last season.

"I think this club is the perfect place for me to keep developing my game," he told the Sharks website.

"I want to work on my set-piece and my defence and Byron [McGuigan] and the rest of the coaches at Sale have been brilliant to work with."
