Cornish Pirates have re-signed prop Alfie Petch on a short-term loan from Premiership club Gloucester.

The 24-year-old played for the Pirates during 2022-23 before signing for Northampton.

A club statement said he had trained with the squad this week and is available for selection with immediate effect.

Pirates play Doncaster at home on Sunday as they look to extend their three-game winning run, after beating Coventry last weekend.

Petch has made three appearances for the Cherry and Whites this season, including their most recent defeat at RC Vannes in the Challenge Cup.

He began his career with Exeter and has also had a spell with French Pro2 club Biarritz.
