Dale MacLeod will join Dragons next season as the Welsh region's new defence coach.

The New Zealander will leave his current role as Semco Northland Rugby Taniwha head coach, and will be reunited with current Dragons head coach Filo Tiatia, who he previously worked alongside in Super Rugby.

MacLeod also led Southland in the National Provincial Championship (NPC), assisted Moana Pasifika in Super Rugby, and worked with Tonga - including during the 2023 Rugby World Cup.

Tiatia said: "I've worked with Dale previously, most recently at Moana Pasifika, and I'm excited by the impact he will have on the Dragons.

"He's a very knowledgeable coach, someone who has coached from grassroots right up to international level, and he has a huge appetite for the game.

"He brings a wealth of knowledge and will be good for the club, someone who will also be a good challenge for me, and is exactly what the group here needs."
