Dragons captain Ben Carter has had knee surgery that will keep him out until early next year.

Carter, 23, sustained the issue in his left knee while training with Wales at the end of October.

The lock is expected miss the next two months and could return in February.

“We are pleased that surgery was a complete success for Ben, and he has now started his journey to recovery with our medical and support staff," said interim Dragons head coach Filo Tiatia.

“Ben has our full support and very best wishes, and we will look forward to his return next year.”
