McCloskey and O’Brien outstanding so far while Doris looks in the mood. May be proved wrong but feel Ireland can shade this

    Ian, Northmberland

The atmosphere is shocking! I've been to livelier wakes...

    Brian, Melbourne

Let’s just imagine what it would be like if this game was being played in Dublin. Feel sorry for the Irish fans missing out on the chance of a historic second half.

Leicester Fainga'anuka drops an easy pass and Ireland have a scrum just inside the New Zealand half.

We're back under way in Chicago.

Let's hope it's a more flowing 40 minutes than the first half.

I'm sure Wallace Sititi really felt this tackle from Tommy O'Brien.

    Bang.

With Beirne replaced by Iain Henderson, James Ryan's HIA saw Baird move into the second row with Doris taking his place in the back row.

It'll be interesting to see how that plays out in the second half.

The Irish line-out has struggled throughout and it feels like whether Ryan returns or not will have a big impact on their chances of improving the set-piece.

What's it like to take on the All Blacks as a player? Does the big games make him miss rugby? What did Murray think of Beirne's red?

New Zealand started with three Barrett brothers on the pitch and they're now down to one.

Captain Scott was forced off in the early stages, and Jordie followed after an awkward fall later in the half.

A bit earlier than he might have anticipated, but it's good to see Caelan Doris back in action after he was forced to miss the Lions tour in the summer.

What did you make of that half?published at 21:09 GMT 1 November

Yikes. I know this is about growing the game but I’ve experienced better party atmospheres on speed awareness courses. NFL lines all over the pitch, referee trying his best to wear out his whistle…second half can’t be much worse

    Rob, Cambridge

This is a painfully tedious refereeing performance. Just let the game flow!

Tadhg Beirne's heat map will be a bit like the Grampa Simpson meme after his red card inside three minutes.

Any further sanctions could impact Ireland's games against Japan, Australia and South Africa.

It's been really exciting and an entertaining half. Lot's of stop-starts at the beginning but some real good intent carries for both sides. The Ireland back row have been outstanding and there is nothing really between the sides.

The All Blacks will be disappointed they haven't put enough phases together.

It's been a strange half of rugby with one big, big talking point.

Anyway, Ireland lead by three at the break.

A definite penalty and maybe in another game he would have got a bit more, but it looks like he's just got away with a penalty.

The penalty is actually for a swinging arm from Clarke on O'Brien's head on that initial tackle.

There's no sign of a card from Brousset, which will be a talking point given the Beirne incident earlier on.

Tommy O'Brien is clattered by Caleb Clarke as he catches a kick.

All's fair in love and war, and O'Brien gets his revenge on New Zealand with a huge shot on Sititi.

Play is brought back for a penalty to Ireland a few phases back.

Jack Crowley sends in a deep kick into the corner, Beauden Barrett catches the ball, runs into touch and then his arm goes up to call the mark when he's already out of play.

Brousset lets him away with it, but the Irish fans aren't best pleased with that call.

James Lowe sends a low kick and it's right out the back of the in-goal area.

I have to say, there's not much margin for error behind the posts.

You can really see how much smaller a NFL pitch is compared to rugby with the faded pitch markings.

Caelan Doris' first involvement is a big tasty carry.

He was simply immense in Ireland's 2021 win over the All Blacks in Dublin, and he looks ready to get stuck in here.
