Shinty: Kinlochshiel demolish Skye in Premiership derby

Kinlochshiel demolished local rivals Skye 5-0 in the Premiership west coast derby at Balmacara.

Kyles had a fine 2-0 away win over traditional rivals Newtonmore, and it was the same score for champions Kingussie away to newly-promoted Glenurquhar.

Lochaber, in their first season back in the top flight, battled back for a 3-3 draw with Oban Camanachd at Mossfield.

Lovat survived a late onslaught to edge Caberfeidh 4-3 at Strathpeffer

A Keith MacRae double for Kinlochshiel bracketed goals from Archie MacRae and Ali Nixon. Jordan Fraser wrapped up the scoring on the latter stages.

Ross MacRae put Kyles ahead early and a penultimate minute Kenny Ross own goal clinched it for them, leaving Newtonmore pointless after two games.

Dylan Borthwick scored in both halves for Kingussie at Drumnadrochit.

Malcolm Clark scored twice for Oban before Stuart Callison replied. Matthew Sloss put Camanachd 3-1 up at half time but Lochaber struck back twice in the last quarter hour through Barry MacDonald and Ben Delaney for their first point since promotion.

A Greg Matheson double put Lovat firmly in charge and Ben MacDonald's response for Cabers was wiped out within seconds by Marc MacLachlan.

Craig Morrison pulled one back, Lorne MacKay restored Lovat's two goal lead before Morrison's second left the game on a knife edge.

There were clear National Division victories for the two relegated sides.

Calum Flynn's double in Beauly's 4-0 defeat of Col Glen was matched by Calum Morrison, when Glasgow Mid Argyll swept Oban Celtic aside 6-1.

Fort William had a valuable 2-1 home win over Inveraray and Kilmallie edged Bute 1-0
