Britain's Charlotte Kerwood won gold in the women's trap at the Shotgun World Cup in Abu Dhabi.

The 27-year-old from Sussex, a three-time Commonwealth Games gold medallist, beat Germany's Jana Beckmann 11-10 in the gold medal match.

Despite missing with three of her first four shots, Kerwood ended her round with eight successful shots at the Al Forsan International Sport Resort.

"This is probably the best moment of my career," she said.

"Winning this title feels amazing and gives me new motivations. I want to be ready for the 2014 World Championship, and I am looking forward to my next aim: Rio 2016.

"It's going to be my third Olympics and I want to come back home with a medal this time."

Slovak Zuzana Stefecekova beat Finland's Satu Makela-Nummela to claim the bronze medal.
