China's Fan Zhengyi scored the first maximum break of his career at the English Open on Friday.

The world number 54 produced the 147 in the final frame of his 4-2 win over Liam Pullen.

That made Fan, 23, the second player to score a maximum in the current campaign, after Noppon Saengkham at the Saudi Arabia Masters.

Fan, who beat Ronnie O'Sullivan in the final of the 2022 European Masters, is now set to face Ryan Day of Wales in the English Open third round on Monday.

His break is the 204th official maximum in history and puts Fan in line to claim the £5,000 prize for the highest break at the event in Brentwood, Essex.
