  1. Welcome backpublished at 18:57 GMT

We are back getting ready for the evening session and what a session it promises to be.

This is what we have got coming up - 19:00 GMT Mark Williams (Wal) v David Gilbert (Eng), Xiao Guodong (Chn) v Pang Junxu (Chn)

  2. Wu Yize holds off Holt fightback to gain winpublished at 16:51 GMT
    Breaking

    Wu 6-4 Holt

We now know that Neil Robertson will play China's Wu Yize in the last 16 after he held off a fightback from Michael Holt to seal a 6-4 victory.

Wu led 4-0 and had a maximum attempt in frame five, reaching 81. But after that Holt then took four frames in a row as he threatened a superb recovery.

But it was not to be for last year's quarter-finalist as he took the 10th frame 65-11 to move into round two.

  3. Robertson into last 16published at 16:33 GMT
    Breaking

    Robertson 6-2 Leclercq

Neil Robertson is the first winner on Sunday, sealing a 6-2 victory over Belgium's Julien Leclercq.

  4. Robertson's 147 attempt ends on 64published at 16:24 GMT

    Robertson 5-2 Leclercq

A thin cut from Neil Robertson sees the ninth red stay on the table as the 147 attempt ends on 64, following eight reds, eight blacks.

Robertson was looking to seal the victory in style and had played to stay on the black, instead of going for an easier shot.

Julien Leclercq comes to the table 5-2 and 64-0 down, needing perfect snooker to save this one.

  5. Postpublished at 16:21 GMT

Robertson on seven reds, seven blacks.

  6. Robertson one away, Holt continues fightbackpublished at 16:19 GMT

Robertson 5-2 Leclercq, Wu 5-4 Holt

Neil Robertson is in a great position now as he is 5-2 ahead and well placed in the eighth frame.

Wu Yize looked to be cruising into the last 16 and was 5-0, having just reached 81 on a maximum attempt.

But since then the wheels have come off. Michael Holt now has won four frames in a row, needing two more to complete a sensational recovery.

  7. Holt hanging onpublished at 16:06 GMT

Robertson 4-2 Leclercq, Wu 5-3 Holt

Wu Yize should be heading off the table with a 6-2 victory next to his name. He was 56-50 ahead after benefiting from a couple of profitable snookers and potted the yellow, but then ran out of position and had to go safe.

But the Chinese player then leaves the green on and Holt snatches the frame 68-58 on the pink to win his third frame in a row - and he stays alive, 3-5 behind.

On the other table, Neil Robertson has moved two frames back in front, having previously led 2-0 and 3-1, against Belgium's Julien Leclercq.

  8. Leclercq break of 57 reduces the gap to onepublished at 15:39 GMT

Robertson 3-2 Leclercq, Wu 5-2 Holt

This has been a good period for the qualifiers. Michael Holt has won two frames in a row on table two and Julien Leclerq has now claimed two of the past three frames on table one.

He has also made his first half-century of the match with an effort of 57 to pull the gap back to one.

It looked like both Neil Robertson and Wu Yize would be cruising to victories, but Holt and Leclercq are both fighting hard.

  9. Holt gets his second frame in a rowpublished at 15:20 GMT

    Wu 5-2 Holt

Are we seeing the start of something special from Michael Holt? A break of 59 in frame six got his first frame on the board and he has then followed that up with a break of 82, the equal highest of the match, to win two in a row.

Wu still needs one frame, but Holt is starting to add a tiny bit of pressure.

  10. Robertson century, Holt off the markpublished at 15:02 GMT

Robertson 3-1 Leclercq, Wu 5-1 Holt

We have just seen the first century of the day and it has come from Neil Robertson with a superb 105 after Julien Leclercq had held a 30-0 lead in frame four.

At the mid-session interval, the Australian, third in the world, holds a 3-1 lead.

We had a 6-0 whitewash yesterday when Si Jiahui thrashed Ryan Day, but we won't have that in this session as Michael Holt is up and running against Wu Yize.

Holt's break of 59, by far his best of the match so far, helps him cling on in the tournament, although Wu still only needs one frame to progress.

  11. Wu's maximum attempt ends at 81published at 14:45 GMT

    Wu 5-0 Holt

Not this time. Wu gets only one more red, for 11 reds and 10 blacks, only for the 11th black to be missed.

Still, the break of 81 means that is now the closest we have come to a 147 so far in this tournament, beating Shaun Murphy's 80 yesterday.

That is now 316 points without reply for Wu, who only needs one more frame.

  12. Postpublished at 14:43 GMT

    Wu 4-0 Holt

We're on 147 watch over on table two. Wu Yize with 10 reds and 10 blacks in frame five.

  13. Leclercq gets first frame at Yorkpublished at 14:43 GMT

    Robertson 2-1 Leclercq

That will make Julien Leclercq feel a lot better as he grabs the third frame of the match, his first frame won at the major stages of a Triple Crown event.

  14. Dream mini-session from Wupublished at 14:25 GMT

    Wu 4-0 Holt

We have reached the mid-session interval on table two and, as these stats show, it has been a dream session from 22-year-old Wu Yize, against his 47-year-old opponent.

Hugely impressive from the Chinese player.

  15. Tough day for the qualifierspublished at 14:12 GMT

Robertson 2-0 Leclercq, Wu 3-0 Holt

Both Julien Leclercq and Michael Holt had to win three matches in qualifying to get to York and it is proving a tough afternoon for both qualifiers so far.

Holt, 64th in the world and a quarter-finalist here last year, has just gone 3-0 down to Wu Yize, with the 22-year-old making a break of 78 in the third frame.

Leclercq, the lowest ranked player in the tournament at 79 in the world, has just fallen 2-0 behind against Australia's Neil Robertson. With the Belgian needing a snooker and with only two balls left on the table, a lengthy battle to pot the pink ball followed, but Robertson edged it to double his advantage.

  16. Robertson and Wu move into early leadspublished at 13:47 GMT

Robertson 1-0 Leclercq, Wu 1-0 Holt

All four seeded players won their matches yesterday and both seeds this afternoon are ahead.

Neil Robertson took a scrappy opener 66-22 against UK Championship debutant Julien Leclercq, while a break of 55 from China's Wu Yize helped him to a 116-1 opening frame over Michael Holt.

  17. The biggest day in Leclercq's careerpublished at 13:22 GMT

    Michael Emons

"He's 6ft 5, has size 14 feet and his long potting skills are a treat."

A great intro from Rob Walker and what a day for Belgium's Julien Leclercq, as he takes on former world champion Neil Robertson.

The 22-year-old Leclercq, nicknamed 'The Belgian Beast', turned professional in 2022 and he reached the final of the one-frame Shoot Out event in 2023, but this is his first appearance in the main stages of a Triple Crown competition.

Ranked 79th in the world, he has had to fight has way through three qualifying rounds. He scraped past Haris Tahir of Pakistan 6-5 in his first qualifying match, then secured a superb 6-2 win over 2024 World Championship runner-up Jak Jones followed by a 6-4 victory against China's He Guoqiang to earn his spot in York.
