Heather Watson drops to 80 in world rankings

British number two Heather Watson has dropped one place to number 80 in the world rankings after a qualifying defeat at the Western & Southern Open.

The 21-year-old had been 3-1 up in the final set but lost five straight games as New Zealand's Marina Erakovic beat her 4-6 7-6 (7-4) 3-6.

Watson had beaten Italy's Francesca Schiavone in the opening round of qualifying in Cincinnati.

The Guernsey star recently parted company with coach Mauricio Hada.
