Gordon Reid is closing in on a second Grand Slam title after the Scotsman and Michael Jeremiasz of France won their Wimbledon wheelchair men's doubles semi-final on Saturday.

Jeremiasz and British number one Reid beat fellow Briton Alfie Hewett and Belgium's Joachim Gerard 7-6 (9-7) 3-6 7-6 (7-4) to reach Sunday's final.

They take on France's Nicolas Peifer and Argentina's Gustavo Fernandez.

Reid's first Grand Slam title came in June when he won the French Open.

However, his chances of adding to that looked to be over when he and Jeremiasz trailed 5-2 in the third set, only to stage an impressive fightback.

"When you're down a break and facing match point you just have to try not to think about it and try to be aggressive as that's when we play our best tennis," said Reid.

"I'm so pleased to get through that match and make the final because it was so tough."
