Jamie Murray and Heather Watson win Mexican Open doubles titles

Britain's Jamie Murray celebrated his 20th career doubles title as he and Brazilian Bruno Soares won the Mexican Open for the second year running.

Murray, 32, and Soares, 36, beat American brothers Bob and Mike Bryan 7-6 (7-4) 7-5 in Acapulco.

Fellow Briton Heather Watson also claimed victory in the women's doubles with partner Tatjana Maria of Germany.

The duo beat American's Kaitlyn Christian and Sabrina Santamaria 7-5 2-6 10-2 for their first title together.

Murray and Soares have won seven tour-level events since teaming up in January 2016.

The ATP World Tour 500 level title also marked 350 men's doubles victories for Murray.

"The tournament is so difficult," he said. "A lot of great teams again coming this year.... just really happy to win, to be successful again."

Murray, who won the Australian Open and US Open with Soares in 2016, also has three Grand Slam titles in mixed doubles.

In the singles events in Acapulco, Argentina's Juan Martin del Potro claimed his first ATP 500 title since 2013 with a 6-4 6-4 win over South African Kevin Anderson.

Ukraine's Lesia Tsurenko came from a set down to defend her women's title, beating Swiss Stefanie Vogele 5-7 7-6 (7-2) 6-2.
