Wales' chances of reaching the Northern Cup final are in doubt after a 36-43 defeat to Scotland at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff.

Coach Melissa Hyndman's team already beat Singapore 75-28 in the three nation tournament on Monday.

Wales will face Scotland in Thursday's final depending on the result of the Thistles' match against Singapore on Wednesday.

Hyndman's side are using the event to prepare for July's Commonwealth Games.

Wales' team for the Glasgow-based games will be named in May.
