Cardiff Devils beat Nottingham Panthers 7-2 to finish their regular season on a high on Sunday.

The Devils lost 2-1 away to the Sheffield Steelers on Saturday which saw the Yorkshire side crowned Ice Hockey's Elite League champions ahead of the Welsh side.

Cardiff now face the Belfast Giants in a two-legged play-off quarter final.

The first leg will be in Northern Ireland on Friday, 27 March, with the return tie on Sunday, 29 March.

Devils player coach Andrew Lord said: "I couldn't be more proud of the guys. Last night was absolutely devastating.

"The first period was awesome, [we] just came out played our game, played Cardiff Devils hockey.

"Up and down the line we had contributions from everyone and that just speaks volumes for the character of the guys in this room.

"After such a tough loss and tough travel, lack of sleep, to come out the way they did was just great."
