Aled Sion Davies: Paralympian sets new F42 discus world record

Aled Sion Davies won F42 discus gold at the 2012 Paralympic Games in London

Paralympic champion Aled Sion Davies has set a new F42 discus world record at the Triton Invitational in San Diego, California.

The 25-year-old set a new personal best of 54.85m, over half a metre further than he had previously thrown during his career.

The Welshman was 21cm shy of his personal best in the shot put, finishing in sixth place with a throw of 17.19m.

He won F42 shot put gold at Rio 2016.
