Eve Muirhead led her rink to an eighth Scottish Curling Championship in nine years with an 8-3 victory over the team skipped by Maggie Wilson in Perth.

But there was to be no Muirhead family double as Eve's brother Glen's team lost the men's final 6-3 to Bruce Mouat's rink.

It was a third successive Scottish title for Mouat who, alongside Bobby Lammie, Hammy MacMillan and Grant Hardie, will now represent Scotland at next month's World Men's Curling Championships in Glasgow.

"Lots of good teams will be at the Worlds, but we've won a slam, we've won a bronze at Worlds, so we're not going to be scared to face any of them. We are just so excited," Mouat said.

Even Muirhead, Lauren Gray, Jennifer Dodds and Vicky Wright will fly the flag for Scotland at the Women's World Championships in Prince George, Canada, next month.

"The Scottish Championships mean the most to me. To come out on top this week is really special," said skip Muirhead.
