Restaurant bill fraudster asked if he is ashamed

“Are you ashamed of your actions, Mr McDonagh?”

A couple admitted dining and dashing to the value of more than £1,000 at five restaurants at Swansea Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.

Bernard and Ann McDonagh ate expensive meals and left the venues without settling their bills.

One of the restaurant’s owners said fraud like that of the couple was “destroying” for businesses.

Outside court, BBC Wales reporter Colette Hume asked Bernard McDonagh why he thought the “rules didn’t apply” to him.
