  1. Wilson's super Sheffield recordpublished at 10:37 24 April

    Wilson 9-1 Dale

Kyren Wilson has a formidable record at the Crucible.

He reached at least the quarter-final for six straight years from 2016 to 2021 - including an appearance in the 2020 final when he was beaten by Ronnie O'Sullivan.

But he's lost at the second-round stage the past two years.

It seems almost certain he'll get a crack of putting those back-to-back last-16 exits to bed, just a frame away from setting up a round two meeting with Joe O'Connor.

  2. 'Perfectly poised'published at 10:32 24 April

    Ding 5-5 Lisowski

    Shaun Murphy
2005 world champion on BBC Two

    It's perfectly poised.

We're a long way from the line in this match but there is every sign the quality play from yesterday will continue.

We're only halfway so settle in for what is going to be a great match.

  3. Wilson one frame from victorypublished at 10:31 24 April

    Wilson 9-1 Dale

It's looking very ominous for Dominic Dale - Kyren Wilson takes the opening frame of the day and he's now only one away from going through.

  4. Ding levels against Lisowskipublished at 10:27 24 April

    Ding 5-5 Lisowski

We had a couple of 10-9 thrillers yesterday - and might another be in store this morning?

A break of 74 helps 2016 Crucible runner-up Ding Junhui draw level with Jack Lisowski.

Since Ding took a 2-0 lead early on Tuesday morning, there's not been more than a frame separating the two.

  5. First session not too groovy for Dalepublished at 10:11 24 April

And on the other table this morning, 52-year-old Dominic Dale needs arguably the biggest comeback in Crucible history if he is to remain in the tournament.

Dale cut a bit of an Austin Powers vibe in his pre-match interview with BBC Sport's Abigail Davies on Tuesday.

But he quickly lost his mojo, baby - falling 8-1 behind to an on-fire Kyren Wilson.

So first up is the resumption of Ding Junhui's first-round clash with Jack Lisowski - two very evenly-matched players.

It was a high-quality first session between these two big-hitters on Tuesday morning, as you might expect.

Will it be the same today or will the finishing line jitters strike?

  8. Back again? Course you arepublished at 10:02 24 April

It was quite the dramatic day four of this year's World Championship on Tuesday.

Three-time world champion Mark Williams saw his hopes of lifting a fourth Crucible crown, at the age of 49, ended with a thrilling 10-9 defeat by China's Si Jiahui.

Wednesday will see four more first-round ties played to a conclusion as the last-16 line-up increasingly takes shape with Ding Junhui, Kyren Wilson and Mark Allen all in action.

Oh, and someone you might have heard of gets his bid for a record-breaking eighth World Championship title under way as well...
