Aberdeen school mergers consultation begins

A consultation on the shape of secondary education in Aberdeen in the years to come is getting under way.
City councillors last week agreed to let parents and pupils have their say on the number of academies needed.
It came amid proposals for a closure and merger programme which could see the academies cut from 12 to eight.
The consultation will take place online and through face-to-face meetings, with the result being reported in September.
