Stroud launches campaign aimed at shoppers

A campaign has started in Stroud to encourage people to continue shopping there when major road works take place.
Banners are being hung from lampposts and a website has been set up to attract shoppers.
A new bridge is being built between Dr Newtons's Way and Merrywalks as part of the Stroudwater Canal regeneration.
Carole Garfield, of Stroud Chamber of Commerce and Trade, said: "It's important that local shoppers are aware that Stroud town is open."
