Man charged with murdering his mother in Liverpool

Edna Gadsby's body was found at an address in Moscow Drive

A 38-year-old man has been charged with the murder of his elderly mother in Liverpool.

Police discovered Edna Gadsby, 70, at a house in Moscow Drive, Stoneycroft, in the early hours of 31 March. She died from multiple stab wounds.

Leslie Gadsby, of Moscow Drive, Stoneycroft, has been charged with murder and arson, a Merseyside Police spokesman said.

He is due to appear at Liverpool City Magistrates' Court later.
