Optimism 'will win next election' says Guernsey deputy
- Published
Guernsey's next deputies election will be fought on "feel-good language" rather than policies, says one deputy.
2010 was mid-term for the current government with islanders next due to go to the polls in spring 2012.
Deputy John Gollop topped the polls in the St Peter Port North district two years ago.
He said manifestos that were optimist tended to be more successful than those that highlighted failings or outlined policies.
Deputy Gollop has served as a deputy since 1997 and also topped the St Peter Port polls in 2000, during the last election based on the parish system rather than the district system.
