Former Take That band-mates Robbie Williams and Gary Barlow are to release a duet, 15 years after they last recorded together.

The single, titled Shame, has been written by the pair and will be released on 4 October.

Barlow and Williams fell out around the time Williams left Take That in 1995 but have seemingly resolved their differences in recent years.

The single is taken from Williams' upcoming greatest hits album.

The double CD, due out later this year, will be titled In and Out of Consciousness.

The news comes following months of speculation about Williams re-joining Take That.

At a concert for Children in Need last year, Williams spoke of the rumours about him performing with the band again.

He said plans were "shaping up to be very exciting" but added that he did not know where, when or how it would happen.

"I just hope people don't get bored of the idea before it actually happens," he said.

Williams and Barlow were also seen together at Sunday's charity football event, Soccer Aid, at Old Trafford.
