Rappers Dr Dre and Timbaland have shocked students at a high school graduation party in California with a surprise performance.

Dr Dre took to the stage in Culver City High School's gymnasium to introduce Timbaland who performed hits including The Way I Are and Promiscuous Girl.

During his performance, Timbaland asked students: "Y'all got a curfew?"

The show was part of a tie-up with a PC maker which also donated $10,0000 (£6,700) of equipment to the school.

Dr Dre, whose long-awaited album Detox will reportedly be out by the autumn, did not perform with his Interscope Records labelmate.

Interscope chairman Jimmy Iovine was also at the school.

Asked if a collaboration between the two rappers was on the cards, Iovine said: "We should be so lucky - I can only get them so close, the rest is up to them."
