Vanessa Redgrave to star in Driving Miss Daisy play

Redgrave first appeared on Broadway in The Lady From The Sea
British actress Vanessa Redgrave will return to Broadway in October to star alongside James Earl Jones in Driving Miss Daisy at the John Golden Theatre.
Redgrave, 73, who won a Tony award for 2003's Long Day's Journey Into Night, will play Daisy Werthan opposite Earl Jones's Hoke Colburn.
The Oscar-winning 1989 film starred Jessica Tandy - who won best actress - and Morgan Freeman.
Performances begin on 7 October with an official opening of 25 October.
Jones, 79, the winner of two best actor Tonys - for The Great White Hope in 1969 and Fences in 1987 - voiced Darth Vader in Star Wars.
Vanessa Redgrave last performed on Broadway in 2007 in Joan Didion's The Year of Magical Thinking.
The actress - part of the Redgrave acting dynasty - first appeared on Broadway in 1976 in Henrik Ibsen's The Lady From The Sea
Alfred Uhry's Driving Miss Daisy, which won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 1988, opened as an off-Broadway production - also starring Morgan Freeman as Daisy's chauffeur - a year earlier.
