New Hampshire police headquarters could be delayed

Plans to replace Hampshire Constabulary's headquarters in Winchester could be delayed.
It is in response to proposed cuts in policing budgets over four years.
In February, Hampshire Police Authority chose to build new headquarters at a site in Alpha Park, Chandlers Ford, which it purchased in 2008.
Work is now on hold while the authority considers a number of alternatives, including lower cost options, plus leasing and other usage opportunities.
'Intense scrutiny'
Councillor Jacqui Rayment, chair of Hampshire Police Authority, said: "The situation we are now in is a completely different economic environment to the one in which we purchased Alpha Park.
"The world has changed dramatically and all public services are under intense scrutiny to save money and become even more efficient."
The police authority's options will be discussed at its next meeting on 20 July in Southampton.
Ms Rayment said a final decision may not be made until full details of the government's spending review are released in October.
She added: "However, we may not know the full detail and how it affects force funding for the future until as late as December."
