Tower saved from erosion by sea in Suffolk goes on sale
- Published
A fort built on the Suffolk coast to fend off invasion by French Napoleonic forces has been saved from collapse and is now on the market as a home.
The Martello Tower at East Lane at Bawdsey was threatened by coastal erosion for many years.
It was saved last year when privately-funded sea defences were built.
The crumbling tower, owned by John Fell-Clark, has been put up for auction after being restored and turned in to a luxury home.
