TV comedienne Jennifer Saunders has been fighting breast cancer for the past eight months, it has been revealed.
The 52-year-old was diagnosed after finding a lump in October and has just completed treatment for the illness.
Doctors have now told the Absolutely Fabulous star that she is in remission.
Hair loss is one of the side effects of chemotherapy, commonly used to treat cancer, and she was recently photographed in a wig and bandana.
The star was also photographed with closely-cropped hair at artist Tracey Emin's 47th birthday party in the south of France.
Saunders, who has been married for 25 years to fellow comedian Adrian Edmondson, has not spoken publicly about her illness and according to her spokeswoman has no plans to.
One half of the successful comedy duo French and Saunders, alongside with Dawn French, the pair ended their long-time comedy partnership last year.
Saunders also created the much-loved BBC sitcom Absolutely Fabulous in which she played an over-the-top fashion PR.
