Cancer surgery to remain at Worcester Royal Hospital

Health bosses have reversed a decision to close a cancer surgery unit in Worcester.
Three Counties Cancer Network covers Worcestershire, Gloucestershire and Herefordshire primary care trusts.
It was considering transferring patients from Worcestershire Royal Hospital to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital for surgery.
It has now decided there should be surgery at both hospitals but one specialist team across the counties.
The proposal must be considered by the Department of Health before it can be formally ratified.
Paul Crawford, from Droitwich, survived throat cancer and led the fight to keep the unit open.
He told BBC Hereford and Worcester's Tony Fisher in the Morning that the decision had come as a relief.
"In my case just to have the radiotherapy meant that I did about 3,500 miles over six weeks, just for 10 minutes of treatment a day, six days a week," he said.
"As a patient that does not help the recovery process."
