A developer wants permission to build even more homes at the old Horlicks factory site.

Berkeley Homes already has approval from Slough Borough Council to build 1,293 homes.

But it now wants to increase that to 1,380 which would involve raising the height of three towers at the centre of the development.

Slough Borough Council’s planning committee is set to vote on whether to approve the proposed changes on 29 May.

Berkeley Homes said it had reviewed the overall composition and heights of the consented buildings "with a view to improving the developments potential to deliver much needed homes within the local borough".

The three towers are subdivided into nine blocks and the changes will mean adding more storeys to eight of those blocks.

The tallest of the blocks will increase from 14 to 17 storeys - an additional nine metres in height.

Council planning officers are recommending that the changes are approved.

Officers said the increased heights will mean “some harm” to certain areas around the site but they said the harm to viewpoints would not be a “significant increase” compared to the plans that have already been approved.
