A man has been charged with attempted murder in connection with a stabbing that left a man with life-threatening injuries.

The victim was taken to hospital after he suffered stab wounds while working in Doncaster city centre at 22:25 BST on Friday.

Andrew Thompson, 33, of Kentmere Drive, Lakeside, in Doncaster, has been charged with attempted murder, four counts of possession of an offensive weapon and assault.

He will appear before Doncaster Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
