Man charged with murder of woman found in street

A man has been charged with murder following the death of a woman in Leicestershire.
Police were called to Biddle Road in Littlethorpe, near Narborough, on Sunday evening to a woman who was found injured in the street.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
On Tuesday, Daniel Cook, 39, of Atkinson Road in Ashby, appeared at Leicester Magistrates' Court charged with her murder.
Mr Cook was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Leicester Crown Court on Thursday.
A spokesperson for Leicestershire Police said formal identification would take place later this week.
"Officers continue to support the victim's family through this extremely difficult time," the spokesperson added.
