A 19-year-old man has been charged after a crash involving three cars during a police pursuit in Lincolnshire.
The collision took place at the junction of Corringham Road and Thorndike Way between Lincoln and Gainsborough at 10:30 BST on Sunday.
A silver Vauxhall Meriva travelling towards Gainsborough was being pursued by police after failing to stop for officers.
Police said the driver, from the Birmingham area, had been charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving, driving while disqualified and using a motor vehicle on a road/public place without third party insurance.
Police car 'rammed'
The passenger in the Meriva was taken to hospital with injuries described as serious.
The pursuit of the car was authorised at 09:50 BST after it had failed to stop for police officers.
Police said a marked BMW police car was rammed during the pursuit.
A crowbar, which was believed to have been thrown from the Meriva, became lodged into the police car front bumper.
Lincolnshire Police said none of its officers were injured.
The Meriva was driven along the B1188 at Canwick towards the Eastern Bypass and turned left before travelling towards Lincoln, going the wrong way around the bypass roundabouts, according to police.
The driver then headed along the A157 towards Louth and, as it joined with the A631, turned left and continued until the crash involving two other cars was reported, the force added.
The driver and passenger of a black Mercedes saloon travelling towards Corringham were taken to hospital with injuries not thought to be serious.
No injuries were reported to the driver and only occupant of a black Mercedes SUV, also travelling towards Corringham, which was also involved.
Police are asking for anyone who witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage of the silver Meriva as it failed to stop for police to get in touch.
