Plans have been put forward to redevelop a former care home into 28 flats.

A planning application was submitted to East Lindsey District Council (ELDC) to replace Mablethorpe Hall on Alford Road, which is set to be demolished.

The development by Andrew Clover Planning and Design Ltd would include a total of 16 one-bedroom flats and 12-two bedroom apartments, all with a balcony.

Developers described the former care-home building as "currently vacant, in poor condition and becoming harmful to the character of the area".

Every flat would have a balcony to "protect the amenity of the future residents"

Planning documents also state a garden would be landscaped to provide a communal garden for the residents.

According to the Local Democracy Reporting Service (LDRS) In June 2013, planning permission was granted for the demolition of the existing building for the erection of 30 apartments for people over 55 and a manager's apartment.

This was refused by ELDC due to issues with adjoining properties being "overlooked" leading to a "loss of privacy".

Developers said the new proposals will have "no appreciable effect upon the living conditions of the closest bungalow".
