Man arrested after woman biker seriously injured

A 50-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of driving with excess alcohol, driving with excess drugs and causing serious injury by dangerous driving following a crash involving a woman motorcyclist on the A47.
Cambridgeshire Police was called to the road near Thorney Toll at 10:55 GMT to reports of a collision between a bike and a Volkswagen LT35 recovery truck.
A woman was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge with serious injuries, while the arrested man, who was from Peterborough, was taken into custody.
The road was closed in both directions between the B1167 roundabout and the services at Thorney Toll. It reopened just after 13:00.
