North Yorkshire attractions close due to Storm Amy

Some sites will close and train companies have announced they expect issues due to the storm

Castles, gardens and parks across North Yorkshire have announced they are closing this weekend due to weather conditions caused by Storm Amy.
The Met Office has issued yellow weather warning for strong winds and heavy rain across the county for the entirety of Saturday with some disruption expected to continue into Sunday.
In response, The National Trust and English Heritage have announced they are both closing some of their sites including Brimham Rocks, Fountains Abbey and Scarborough Castle on Saturday.
"Across exposed areas like the hills and the moors, we could get gusts of around 50 to 60mph" said Katerina Christodoulou, BBC Yorkshire weather presenter.
"Those winds are not really going to ease off until we head into Monday," she added. Katerina.
London North Eastern Railway (LNER), Northern, TransPennine Express also said that their services were likely to be affected throughout the weekend.
Storm Amy is the first named storm of the 2025/26 season and will be followed by Bram and Chandra as storms are named in alphabetical order.
