People interested in playing a role in the 80th Liberation Day Celebrations are being encouraged to take up a volunteering opportunity.
Co-ordinated by the Association of Guernsey Charities, it said the volunteer team would play a key role in ensuring the success of the event.
One of the key roles would be marshalling the cavalcade along the seafront, with volunteers also needed to help get it under way at various starting points.
The roles were being organised into slots of as little as two-and-a-half hours, so people would only need to commit a short part of their day, managers said.
An information event is due to be held on 26 March at Les Cotils for those keen to learn more about available roles.
'Hugely rewarding'
Volunteer team head marshal Alex Knowelden said: "The 80th Liberation Day is a genuinely historic occasion and a chance to celebrate eight decades of freedom and everything that makes Guernsey special.
"I think everyone who volunteers to help put on a day that our community will never forget will find it hugely rewarding.
"As with the Island Games... this is a real chance to be part of something very special, and the more people who come forward, the more it helps us make sure everything runs safely and smoothly."
