A second elderly woman has died nearly two months after a two-car crash in Hampshire.

A 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving after the Ford Fiesta and Audi A3 crashed in Luzborough Lane, Romsey, at about 21:15 BST on Friday 18 April.

One of the passengers of the Fiesta, a woman in her 80s from North Baddesley, died in hospital on 11 May.

Police said another woman in her 80s, also from North Baddesley, who was a passenger in the same car, died in Southampton General Hospital on Sunday.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary said the arrested man, from Southampton, had been released under investigation.

The families of the two women who died are being supported by specialist officers.

Det Sgt Gary Doughty said: "If you witnessed the collision or stopped at the scene please get in touch with us.

"Your information, no matter how small, could be vital to our investigation."
