A playground in Draycott is to close for more than a month for a major refurbishment.

The surfaced area at the village playing fields is getting a £120,000 facelift which will include swings, slides and two climbing areas.

Draycott and Church Wilne Parish Council said the project, which has been guided by a public consultation, will take between four and six weeks depending on the weather.

The council said it was looking forward to opening the new facilities in time for the summer.

Most of the grassed area of the playing fields will remain open during the work, officials said.
